Homemade Radish Kimchi

Ataya ~"Hi everyone !! Today I will show you how to make easy radish kimchi. Let's see ... "

1. Gathering all ingredients.As describe below.


  • Radish (大根) 1 radish ~ 20 Baht 
  • Onion(玉ねぎ) 1 onion ~ 5 Baht
  • Garlic (ニンニク) 4-5 cloves ~ 3 Baht 
  • Ginger powder (ジンジャー・パウダー) 1 pack ~ 10 Baht
  • Seasoning(調味料)[salt(塩),red powder chilli (唐辛子), fish sauce(ナンプラー),sugar(砂糖)] ~ 10 Baht 
Total cost = 48 Baht



2. Cut radish into little stick size.  Spread salt and squeeze them well. Just leave them for 10-20 minutes then wash them with water and let it dry.


 3. Cut onion and garlic into little pieces.

4. Put onion and garlic into blender. Add little bit of sugar,salt,ginger powder and blend it well. 

5. Pour paste into a bowl. Add chilli powder,fish sauce and mixing it.

6. Mix paste with radish and squeeze them together. 

7. Keep it in container and place it 2-3 days in room temperature.

8. If it turns little sour taste then it was done. Put it on refrigerator and enjoy your kimchi !!

[Korean food] Making of Kimchi

Ataya ~ "Hi all, My friend gave me a Kimchi making sauce. So, I just made it. Please take a look."

1.Gathering all ingredients.As describe below
  •    Chinese cabbage  (白菜)  1 pack     ~90 Yen
  •    Kimchi making sauce (キムチ元ソース)  1 bottle ~ 200 Yen
  •    Plastic zip pack bag (ジップ・パック) 1 bag ~ 10 Yen
Total cost = 300 Yen


2. Wash Chinese cabbage with water, shake off water and cut it into size that can be eating easier.



3. Put them in zip pack and pour  Kimchi making sauce into the bag. Shake them well and place in refrigerator. Use a heavy thing like rock, brick or in my case a water bottle to place over the Kimchi.


3.After 3,4 days then we got nice Kimchi !!

(豚キムチ)Buta Kimchi : Fried Pork with Kimchi

Ataya ~ "Hi all, When I was just arrived in Japan. They took me to Izakaya(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Izakaya). Unfortunately, I didn't drink alcohol but I was impressed by Buta Kimchi. I don't think it is original Korea's food. Japanese always love to adapted others food and sometimes just forgot what are they came from. (Ramen-> chinese noodle, Karerice-> India curry).
Well, That is not my business. OK.Let's enjoy the menu... "

1.Gathering all ingredients.As describe below

  •    Kimchi  (キムチ) 200 gram     ~ 50 Yen
  •    pork  (豚肉) 300 gram        ~ 160 Yen
  •  White Sesame(いりごま「白」)  ~10 Yen
  •    Chicken Egg (玉子) 1 egg ~ 10 Yen
  •   Seasoning(調味料)[pepper(胡椒),black pepper(ブラックペッパー),salt(塩),chilli(唐辛子),Garlic paste(大蒜ペース),soy sauce(醤油),mayonnaise(マヨネーズ)] ~ 50 Yen 
    Total cost = ~ 280 Yen


2.Warming up fry pan, add cooking oil and little bit of salt. Then bring pork into it. Add soy sauce and black pepper.


3.After pork is changing it colour then put Kimchi into a pan. Add chilli, pepper and a tea spoon of garlic paste. Mixing and cooking them well.


4.Spread mayonnaise all around.


5. Add an egg and mixing them all, Turn off the heat. Keep mixing it until half of egg was dry.


6.Put all on a plate. Spread white sesame and that is .. Enjoy !!
