[Thai Food] Nam Prik Num : Northern Thai Green Chilli Dip

 Ataya ~ " Hi there !! Today I will show you how to make a famous recipe of northern Thailand. It's น้ำพริกหนุ่ม  Nam Prik Num (The Young Green Chilli Dip). Not too much spicy that you can make it so easy. Let's see ..."

1. Gathering all ingredients.As describe below.

  • Young Green Chilli  (未熟青唐辛子) 4-5 Chilli ~ 10 Baht
  • Garlic (ニンニク) 5-6 cloves ~ 2 Baht
  • Red Onion (赤玉ねぎ) 4-5 onions ~ 3 Baht
  • Lime(ライム) 1/2 lime ~ 2 Baht
  • Seasoning(調味料)[Salt(),Sugar(砂糖),Fish Sauce(ナムプラー)] ~  3 Baht

Total cost = 20 Baht

 

2. First of all, Burning green chilli,garlic and red onion in you fry pan.

 

3. When you get some burn mark on your ingredients then take it off the fry pan.

4. When everything was cool down then take the burn spots off.

 

5. Next smash burned garlic and red onion in mortar.

 

6. Then add green chilli and smash them together.

 

7. Add little bit of lime and seasoning with salt, sugar and fish sauce as you want.

 

8. Finally You got the Nam Prik Num !! Good to eating with crispy pork skin. Enjoy !!

[India Sweet] Honey Milk Rice Pudding

 Ataya P ~ "Hello There !! Today I will show you how to make an India classic sweet recipe ข้าวมธุปายาส  Honey Milk Rice pudding. It's the meal that Buddha ate before enlightenment night. Let's see ..."

1. Gathering all ingredients. As describe below.

  • White Rice (白米) 1 cup ~ 5 Baht
  • Milk (ミルク) ~ 2 cup ~ 10 Baht
  • Honey (蜂蜜) ~ 1/2 cup ~ 30 Baht
  • Raisin(レーズン) ~ 10 gram ~ 5 Baht
  • Green cardamom(グリーンカルダモン) ~ 10 gram ~ 5 Baht
  • Peanut (ピーナツ) ~ 10 gram ~ 5 Baht

Total cost = 60 Baht

 

2. Soaking white rice in water for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

 
 
3. Boiling milk and add soaked rice in the milk. Use low heat and keep boiling it.

 
 
4. Smashing green cardamom in mortar.
 

5. Get the shell out. Using only the green cardamom powder.

 

6. Add honey into the rice.

7. Add the green cardamom powder.


8. Keep stir it until the rice turn to something sticky enough that you can form a rice ball with your hands.
 

9. Finally turn off the heat and wait until it was cool. Put the rice pudding in the plate. Topping with raisin and peanut. Enjoy !!
