[Thai food] Thai Style Sukiyaki

Ataya~"Hi there. Today I will show you how to make Thai style sukiyaki. It's very easy. In Thailand, When we say sukiyaki it is something very difference from Japanese sukiyaki that is cooked meat eating with raw egg.  See what's the difference ..."


1. Gathering all ingredients.As describe below

  •    Chinese cabbage (白菜)  ~200 g     100 Yen
  •    Golden Needle Mushroom (or other mushroom) (えのき茸) ~100 g  100 Yen
  •   bean sprouts(もやし) ~ 1/4 pack 20 Yen
  •    Cellophane noodle (春雨)  1 pack ~ 20 Yen
  •    Tofu (豆腐)  1/2 pack ~ 40 Yen  
  •    Slide Pork(豚バラ) 100 gram ~ 200 Yen
  •   Fish sausage (魚ソーセージ)  1 sausage ~ 100 Yen
  •   Chicken Egg(玉子) 1 egg ~ 20 Yen
  •   Thai Suki sauce 1 cup ~ 10 Yen
  • Seasoning(調味料)[salt(塩), chicken soup(がらスープ), fish sauce(ナムプラー)] ~ 10 Yen
Total cost = 620 Yen



2.Boil water until bubbles came up. Then add Chicken Soup, Chinese cabbage, Golden Needle Mushroom,Cellophane noodle into fry pan.

3. When all veggies became soft. Add meat, fish sausage, tofu and bean sprouts. Drop little bit of fish sauce into it for seasoning.

4. When everything done. Cover with whip egg ...





5. Put them into a bowl. Serve with Thai Sukiyaki sauce .... Aroi !!

Homemade meatball

Ataya ~"Hi there. It was an experiment. I tried to make meatball for a noodle menu. The result wasn't that bad. Let's see how to make it... "


1. Gathering all ingredients.As describe below
  •    Minced Pork (ミンチ豚肉)  ~1/2 kg     188 Yen
  •    Tapioca flour (片栗粉 ) ~1/4 kg  40 Yen
  •    Salt (塩)  3-4 tea spoons ~ 10 Yen
  •    Pepper (コショウ)  2-3 tea spoons ~ 10 Yen  
  •    Soy sauce(醤油) 1-2 tea spoons ~ 5 Yen
Total cost = 285 Yen


2. Put minced pork into the bowl. Add Tapioca flour and all seasonings ..

3.Mixing it well. Pressing and squeezing it until everything become smoothy ...


4. Boiling the water. wait until it boiled then put all the meatballs into the pan. (After made it into ball shape of cause)


5.Keep boiling until all the meatballs are floating up to surface then wait for one or two minutes to make sure it was done.






6. Then put all the hot meatballs into the cold water.




7. That is. Now you have homemade meatballs for fry, grill or using with other menus. Enjoy !!

[Thai dessert] Coffee & Coconut milk Jelly



Ataya ~"Hi there. Today I will show you how to make Coffee & Coconut milk Jelly (Thai style) It is very easy and yummy. Please enjoy the show. "


1. Gathering all ingredients.As describe below
  •    Instant Coffee (インスタントコーヒー)  2-3 tea spoons     ~10 Yen
  •    Coconut Milk (ココナッツミルク) 1 cup ~ 30 Yen
  •    Sugar (砂糖) 9-10 tea spoons  ~ 20 Yen
  •    Salt (塩) 2-3 tea spoons ~ 10 Yen
  •    Gelatine(ゼラチン) 2 pack ~ 20 Yen 
  •   Water(水)1cup ~0 Yen
Total cost = 90 Yen


2.Boil a cup of water until the bubbles come up.

3.Add Coffee, Sugar and Gelatine in order. Mixing it well.

4. Pour the liquid in the container. Keep it in refrigerator until it became solid state.

5. Heat up fry pan . Add coconut milk.Turn the heat to medium and keep stir for a while. Then add sugar,salt and gelatin. Mixing it well.
 *** Not too hot or the coconut milk's oil will appear and that is not good for Thai dessert. 

6. Pour the white liquid over the coffee jelly. Keep it cool.When It all turn to Jelly then it was ready to be serve ...

[Thai food] Thai style tom yum dry noodle (Ba Mee Hang Tom Yum)

Ataya ~ "How are you ? I don't update this blog for a while because I had to do something else. Now I'm back and today I will show you how to make Thai style tom yum dry noodle (Ba Mee Hang Tom Yum)"

1. Gathering all ingredients.As describe below
  •    Thai noodle (タイ麺)  1/5 pack     ~20 Yen
  •    Minced pork (豚肉)  100-150 gram ~ 50 Yen
  •    Bean sprouts (もやし) 30 gram  ~ 10 Yen
  •    Garlic (ニンニク) 1 big clove ~ 10 Yen
  •   Spring Onion (分葱) 10 gram ~ 5 Yen
  •   Chinese Cabbage(白菜) 10 gram ~ 10 Yen
  •   Peanut(ピーナツ) 1 tea spoon ~ 5 Yen
  •   Seasoning(調味料)[salt(塩), chicken soup(がらスープ), pepper(コショウ), fish sauce(ナムプラー),Soy sauce(タイ豆ソース),lemon water(レモン),Tomyamgoong paste(トムヤムグンペース) ~ 40 Yen 
 Total cost = 150 Yen




2.First, Boiling water and add chicken soup powder, salt and then boil the noodle until it turns soft. (~about 5 minutes) then shake off water and keep the noodle in some container.


3. Boiling all veggies for 1-2 minutes. shake off the water and place somewhere else.







4.Using the same soup to boil Minced pork. Add little of salt and pepper into the pork before boiling it.


5. Fry the garlic for topping the dry noodle.





6. Add boiled noodle, veggies, and minced pork into a bowl. Add all seasoning, Tomyumgoong paste, lemon water, fish sauce,soy sauce and mix it well.

7.Spread fried garlic, spring onion, crushed peanut and done. Aroi Maggg !!

Thai Festival in Shibuya 2012

Ataya ~ " Hi all, Today is not for new recipe. I just went to Shibuya (in Tokyo) for Thai festival. There has a lot of Thai food booths. I enjoyed my lunch there .. Yummy Yummy..."
