[Thai food] Tod Mun Goong (Crispy Shrimp Cakes)

Ataya ~"OK. This week I will back to Thai menu. Tod Mun Goong is good to eating as a snack or Appetizer. Tod means frying in hot oil, Mun means fat or oily, Goong is Shimp. Hope you enjoy the show..."

1.Gathering all ingredients.As describe below

  •    Shrimp  (海老) 400 gram     ~ 200 Yen
  •    Minced pork  (ひき豚肉) 500 gram        ~ 150 Yen
  •  White Sesame(いりごま「白」)  ~10 Yen
  •    Breadcrumbs (パン粉) 100 gram ~ 10 Yen
  •   Seasoning(調味料)[pepper(胡椒),black pepper(ブラックペッパー),salt(塩)] ~ 30 Yen 
    Total cost = ~ 400 Yen


2.Taking off all of shrimp's shell.

3.Chopping  shrimp into little pieces and mincing it. You can use mixer if you prefer ( but I have none of them)

4.Bring minced shrimp and minced pork in to a bowl.

5.Add pepper, black pepper,white sesame and little bit of salt.

6.Mixing it well (Again, Better to using your mixer)

7.Using Max heat to warming up fry pan that added frying oil. Then dip you palm into water first...

8.Squeeze it and make a cake like this ...

9.Bath it with breadcrumbs.

10.Frying it in a hot frying oil.

11.More and more..(Now reduce to normal heat)

12.Take some rest on the cooking oil clear sheet.

13.Serving with sweet chilli sauce... Aroi !!

Homemade Caramel Popcorn (with Marshmallow?)

Ataya ~ "Hi all, I just watched Japanese TV program last week. A cooking expert said you can make caramel popcorn at your kitchen as the same taste as you eating at theater with Marshmallow !! Oh! Really? So, I tried to prove it. Let's see... "

1.Gathering all ingredients.As describe below

  •    Popcorn  (ポップコーン)   1/2 pack ~100 Yen
  •    Marshmallow(マシュマロ) 1/2 pack ~ 50 Yen
  •    Butter(バター)2-3 table spoon  ~20 Yen
    Total cost = ~ 170 Yen


2. Heating up fry pan and adding 2-3 table spoon of butters.

3. Wait until butter is all melted.

4. Then add marshmallows.

5. Mixing them well until  all became syrup ..

6. After that, turn off the heat and bring popcorn into a syrup...

7.Turn over and mixing popcorn with sweet syrup as much as you can.

8.Finally, Your caramel popcorn was ready to serve .. Enjoy you movie !!

[Japanese food] Gyoza (餃子)

Ataya ~ "Hi All, This week menu is Gyoza, Well, Simple and easy for everyone. Hope you enjoy the show..."

1.Gathering all ingredients.As describe below
  •    Gyoza cover(餃子の皮)    1 pack ~100 Yen
  •    Gyoza stuff (餃子の中身) 1 pack ~ 300 Yen
  •    Cooking Oil(油)3 tea-spoon  ~10 Yen

 
    Total cost = ~ 440 Yen

2.First, use your finger tip (wash it first of cause) dip into water. Then touch around Gyaza cover.

3.Place stuff in the middle of cover.

4.Folding Gyaza cover...Just like this.

5.Make sure it doesn't break out later with doing some decorated.

6.Ok. These are Gyoza  before cooking...

7.Add cooking oil in fry pan. Heat it up.

8.Place Gyaza for frying them.

9.If the bottom of Gyaza was little bit burn.

10. Add 3-4 table spoons of water.

11.Stream them for 2-3 minutes.

12.Then Gyoza is ready to serve.. (dip sauce = soy sauce+black vinegar+chili powder)

[Thai food] Tom Yum Goong (Clear soup type)

Ataya ~ "OK, This menu is the best well-know Thai dish. Tom Yum Goong. Tom = boil, Yum=mix, Goong=shrimp. This is the taste of all spice. Hope you enjoy the show..."

1.Gathering all ingredients.As describe below

  •    Shrimp (海老) about 500 gram  ~150 Yen
  •    Fish paste cake (竹輪) 1  tube ~ 20 Yen
  •    Onion(玉ねぎ)100 gram  ~10 Yen
  •    Tomato(トマト) 1 tomato ~50 Yen
  •     Celery(セロリ) 1-2 leave  ~ 20 Yen
  •  Chicken base soup (ガラスープ) 2 tea spoons ~ 10 Yen
  •     Carrot(にんじん) 10 gram ~ 5 Yen
  •     Tom Yum Goong paste(トムヤムグン粉) 3 table spoons ~ 20 Yen
  •     Seasoning(調味料)[chili(唐辛子),fish sauce(ナムプラ),lemon water(レモン),Salt(塩)] ~ 50 Yen 

    Total cost = ~ 335 Yen


2.First, Take off all shrimp shell.

3.Warming fry pan and fry shrimp shell with a little bit of salt.

4.Add carrot and onion. Cook it for a minute.

5.Then add water and keep boiling it.

6.Take all stuffs out. Just leaving only soup.

7.Add about 2 spoons of chicken base soup

8.Bring shrimps in ...

9.Add onion , fish paste cake, keep boiling them.

10.Add Tom Yum Goong paste, Chili, Fish sauce, Lemon water and finally, Tomato.Keep boiling for a minute.

11.Put all in a bowl. Spread celery and that is ... Enjoy !!!

[Japanese food] Okinawa Bitter gourd Chanpuru : 沖縄ゴーヤチャンプル

Ataya ~ "Hi. Just like I said before. Japanese around here always misunderstanding that I am Okinawa's people. Whatever, I like this Okinawa's menu. Bitter gourd always good for your health. It has a lot of vitamin C and when I got exhausted, This menu gave my strength back. Please try !!  "


 1.Gathering all ingredients.As describe below

  •    Bitter gourd(ゴーヤ) 1/2 bitter gourd ~90 Yen
  •    Beef (牛肉)  200 gram ~ 300 Yen
  •    Onion(玉ねぎ)100 gram  ~10 Yen
  •    Egg (卵) 1 egg ~30 Yen
  •    White sesame(いりごま) 1/2 tea spoon  ~ 10 Yen
  •    Seasoning(調味料)[pepper(胡椒),soy souce(醤油),salt(塩),Mayonnaise(マヨネーズ)] ~ 50 Yen

 
    Total cost = ~ 490 Yen


2.First of all, Slice bitter gourd into a half.

3.Using tea spoon to pull out the seed and stuff inside.

4.As you can see. Just like this.

5.Then we use just this side.

6.Cut them in to half ring shape. Spread salt all around them and scrub them together.

7.Put them all in the water to washing some bitter taste away. Keep it about 30 minutes should be enough.(Not too long because it will lose too much vitamin also)


8.Warm up fry pan. Add oil,spread salt and fry pieces of onion.

9.Then add beef. Add soy sauce,pepper and cook them well.

10.After that and bitter gourd. Cooking them until going to little bit soft.

11.Then add Mayonnaise.

12.Add egg and mixing it all around. Turn off the heat.

13.When egg is in solid state then it was done. Just spread some white sesame.

14.That is !! Enjoy your dish.
